PEACE IV

The PEACE IV Programme is a unique initiative of the European Union which has been designed to support peace and reconciliation. It is a cross border project involving shared education initiatives and projects that will build positive relations with people from different communities and backgrounds.

Our partner school is Ballaghameehan NS, Rossinver.

This year, we are working alongside Rossinver Organic Centre to plant more trees. Our aim is to support biodiversity by planting more deciduous trees.

On our first visit, the children planned, measured out and marked the spot for each tree to be planted. They created a map of the area and identified trees already growing. They also saw the Ballagh River and discussed the lifecycle of salmon.

On our next visit, each pupil will plant a tree. They will be encouraged to visit the Organic Centre with their families and observe their tree as is grows.

We love learning outdoors!
